Biography
artist, silkscreen printmaker
Born in Kanagawa prefecture in 1975. Majored in Oil Painting at Department of Painting of Tama Art University. After graduation, joined an image production company, then a printing company to work as a graphic designer. In 2004 went to the US and was struck by the posters of psychedelic rock of silkscreen prints exhibited in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). From 2005 majored in Printmaking at the Art Students League of New York and started to express the borderless world-view integrating oriental icons and vivid colors of posters of psychedelic rock through employing the silkscreen print technique. Came back to Japan in 2007 and started to work for a sundry goods manufacturer in Tokyo as a graphic designer. As well as pursuing the silkscreen print technique, exploring the way of expression which goes beyond the world of print by employing media and techniques other than silkscreen print such as Giclee print and paintings.
