At age 19, I went overseas alone for the first time. I went to Puttaparthi , which is in the central part of India. At this time, I had an opportunity to participate in a project of wall-painting at the SAI MUSEUM. It was through this project in which I came to know ART. “ART IS LOVE, LOVE IS ART” was the projects concept. It allowed the message which comes out from within, to talk with one another on the canvas, and it becomes a piece of work with a comfy-impact to viewers.
Like a teddy bear, that everyone loves, come into your memory (Magic Room) .These works allow the viewer to see their youth once again hidden in their memory….. Learn from those artists who are called masters and express Kanna’s world. His work is not formed in one way rather it is expressed in many ways such as painting, drawing, film, (3D-fi lm) and others. Also, he is involved in the publishing of books and films for adults in which the teddy bear is used as a central character.
– I believe that a teddy bear is like a doll representing a bear, which can be a close friend to everyone…….
-An Art Box
My name is Inoue Kanna I like to draw teddy bears and I hope to keep drawing them for life… The teddy bear that Inoue draws seems to have its sparkly eyes on us indicating what we are, who live in the present age, really need to exist, occasionally , it is painful yet warm. The silent eyes enrich our minds as if in the mirror…and because of which we may be able to find an ideal of what original art should be…What is the meaning of the teddy bear being for you, by the way? Well, it actually has existed in history as a comfort for humans…………
Would you like to know more…? As you look at Inoue’s work you will find out why the teddy bear is loved so much and why people want to keep holding onto it and you may be able to find your own personal answer also… you know why…?
maybe is it because the teddy bear, through its` silent eyes, gives a secret message to you…
I actually died in a traffic accident at the age of 28.
I was drinking and driving on the iron pony…with no helmet…with my younger brother riding behind me… It was on the way to a live performance of the underworld…
I was hoping for a fun time…
I was taken to the emergency room and laid in an unconscious state for several days.
This is what I heard from my doctor later on…he said…It is such a miracle that you have lived through this!
I had to stay in the hospital a total of a year and had 3 operations.
You know what ? I lost my job…my boss bagged me while I was in hospital…how funny…
So, there was nothing for me and I was hopeless…yet…It wasn’t that bad…
As I woke up I always had this view…shining and beautiful scenery…the mountain scene far away, the river that flowed in a relaxed manner, and the town that looked small and looked so beautiful…
The beam of the sun that shone through the glass made a pattern in the white transparent curtain…the wind that passed through the window blew the curtain as if it gave life..
I had operations until my body became full of scars and there was no hope in my isolated room…until I looked at the teddy bear my mother had given me…
As my body recovered I began to sketch him…
During my hospital stay, I tried to figure out something…in silent…with the view of the teddy bear that was in my room… and that was the first opportunity for me to reflect on myself…
Now, I am drawing the teddy bear named “kyoro-chan” in order to reflect on myself…
